AI techniques assist manufacturers in unlocking new insights, e.g. detecting potential quality issues and improvement areas, reducing inefficient scrap and rework, and enhancing yield.

SPEAKERS

Ferdinand Casier (Business Group Leader Digital, Agoria & AI4Industry4.0, Co-Lead at AI4Belgium) 

He holds an Executive Master in Management from the Solvay Business School. He has more than 20 years of experience in the digital industries.

In March 2013, he joined Agoria, the Belgian Federation for the technology industry, as Business Group Leader for the Digital. He has accelerated innovation in the data field through the EluciDATA project in collaboration with Sirris and DTAI (2014-2018). Besides, he developed several projects, including technologies such as IoT, cybersecurity, and information management.

Nowadays, Ferdinand is actively involved in implementing regional and national strategies to encourage AI adoption by companies and organizations. He is also the AI4Belgium Working Group Co-Lead for AI4Industry4.0.

Kaat Tastenhoye (Analytical consultant - SAS) 

Kaat graduated in 2013 from the University in Leuven as a business engineer, master in production and logistics. She started her career as a supply chain consultant where she did several different supply chain projects. In 2017, she joined SAS as an analytical consultant.

Sébastien Verhelst (Manufacturing Analytics Expert - SAS) 

Since 2018, Sébastien joined SAS with a background in industrial engineering (2011), global management (2012) and obtained lean six sigma black belt certification (2015).

The specialized engineering skills together with business expertise enables him to analyze, predict and optimize systems and processes in an international context. Before joining SAS, Sébastien started his career at DuPont Chemicals as demand planner.

Afterwards he initiated multiple projects to improve their forecasting performance by using SAS. He then moved to Qualivino, a family business, to run a business transformation project.

Leila Rebbouh (Head of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Solutions - NRB)

Leila has broad career experience, from Corporate Research in Physics in Blue Chips like Toyota and Huntsman to Academical Research at the University of Manitoba. She participated in multiple high-tech projects.

Leila also has entrepreneurial experience as she founded her own company, LR Physics - LR Data Science, before Heading NRB's Data Science & Artificial Intelligence Solutions team.

Jonathan (Berte Founder & CEO - Robovision)

Jonathan is the founder and CEO of Robovision, a Belgian company that specializes in industrializing deep learning. Berte and his team of machine learning experts have developed a fully scalable platform for the deployment of advanced artificial intelligence (AI). Robovision is applied in sectors as diverse as manufacturing, healthcare, security and agriculture. With this AI Vision platform, Robovision wants to open up the human-machine revolution to companies looking to lead.

Jonathan studied applied physics at the University of Ghent and specialized in neuroscience at ETH Zurich. As a strong believer in the power of technology to transform global democracy, he is an avid supporter of the open source movement and was voted Disruptor of the Year 2018. He seeks to apply his AI expertise to enact change not only on a corporate level, but on a societal level as well.
