The EDIH WalHub project aims to speed up the digital transformation of manufacturing businesses in Wallonia by adopting four key technologies: AI, the IoT, HPC and cybersecurity. It fits in with the dynamics of Digital Wallonia’s “Industry of the Future” programme.

Led by a consortium of partners, the purpose of the EDIH project (European Digital Innovation Hubs) “WalHub” is to speed up the digital transformation of manufacturing businesses with a view to developing Industry 4.0 in Wallonia.

4 key technologies

This EDIH project is based on the adoption of four key technologies :

  • Artificial Intelligence,
  • the Internet of Things,
  • high-performance computing,
  • cybersecurity.

These technologies will be applied to all of the elements that form the foundations of an industrial manufacturing organisation :

  • human resources,
  • innovation,
  • energy,
  • production processes,
  • supply chain,
  • etc.

It will tackle all of the processes involved at all the different stages of managing the flow of goods, production and the associated information exchanges.

The EDIH will identify a user experience that should be able to help businesses gradually become more technologically mature. There will be a particular focus on experimentation, thanks to the involvement of research centres and access to Industry 4.0 demonstrators. The approach is designed to be multi- and cross-sectoral, with specific activities aimed at logistics.
